The Marine National Park

In Mafia the tropical vegetation covers the island, and you will find diminutive Antelopes, wild pigs, Monkeys and many feathered denizens scampering or flitting among the fig trees and also varied tropical birds. With its interesting history of dhow building industry and the boat yards that you can visit when touring Mafia island. Most of the islanders are still ply their ancient trade of fishing and grow crops such as coconut, rice, cassavapigeon peas, cashewnuts, pineapples, beans, pawpaw and others.

Day 01

Pick up the hotel and start your tour, today will be snorkeling, swimming and picnic. This is a full day tour at Kayaks.

This is your first day on safari, so we ask you please pay attention to the visitor rules and our company recommendations.

  • Off road driving is also prohibited, as such behavior may cause irreparable damage to the fragile balance of the natural ecosystem.
  • In addition, we sincerely request that you not your feet on the safari cars seats, nor sit on the back of them, because this type of behavior quickly make the cars unusable

Important note

  • There are quite a number of scheduled flights flying into and out of Mafia every day. Coastal Aviation, Zan Air, Precision Air and Tropical Air. The flight by plane takes 45 minutes from Dar es Salaam and 1 hour from Zanzibar or Selous.
  • Make sure you reconfirm your return International and charter flight at least 72 hours prior to departure.
