At Mafia where you spend your outdoor holiday with fascinating marine park where more than 200 species found. Mafia island has the distinction of hosting an incredible diversity of acquatic life, both flora and fauna.The largest of a score of islands, atolls and tidal sandbars, Mafia itself is approximately 50 km long by 15km across, and is surrounded by a barrier reef teeming with marine life. Natural vegetation on Mafia ranges from tidal mangrove thickets and scrubby coastal moorlands to palm-wooden grassland and lowland rainforest.

Day 01

Reception at the airport (Mafia airport/seaport) morning/evening transfer to the Didimiza villa at
Utende for lunch/ dinner and overnight.

We can also arrange for a day tour in case of earlier morning/ afternoon arrival.

Day 02

After breakfast, pick up for half day beach walks with an opulent lunch served at Didimiza villa

Whale shark safari (possible during the months August to March and/or sunset cruise.

Additional note

This is your first day on safari, so we ask you please pay attention to the visitor rules and our company recommendations.

Off road driving is also prohibited, as such behavior may cause irreparable damage to the fragile balance of the natural ecosystem
During the safari you are allowed to smoke, but be extremely careful about how you extinguish and dispose of cigarette butts.
In addition, we sincerely request that you not your feet on the safari cars seats, nor sit on the back of them, because this type of behavior quickly make the cars unusable

Day 03

In the morning/ late afternoon depending on the flight schedule, transfer to Mafia airport for transfer to Dar es Salaam in correspondence with your next destination.

Important note

There are quite a number of scheduled flights flying into and out of Mafia every day. Coastal Aviation, Zan Air, Precision Air and Tropical Air. The flight by plane takes 45 minutes from Dar es Salaam and 1 hour from Zanzibar or Selous.
Make sure you reconfirm your return International and charter flight at least 72 hours prior to departure.
