Mikumi Getaway

Mikumi National Park's the most guaranteed wildlife sightings. More than 400 bird species have been recorded, with such colourful common residents as the lilac-breasted roller, yellow-throated long claw and bateleur eagle joined by a host of European migrants during the rainy season. Hippos are the star attraction of the pair of pools situated 5km north of the main entrance gate, supported by an ever-changing cast of water-birds.

Day 01

Pick up all and drive to Mikumi National park, lunch served in Morogoro town en route to the National Park. Mikumi is nestled between Uluguru Mountain to the northeast, Udzungwa Mountains and the Rift Valley escarpment to the south west as part of Selous ecosystem, it benefits from the highest game density of the entire conservation area. On arrival to the park enjoy afternoon game drives in Mikumi untill sunset.

Additional note

This is your first day on safari, so we ask you please pay attention to the national parks visitor rules and our company recommendations.

  • During the safari is strictly prohibited to exit the vehicle, except for in specially designated areas. Violations of this rule may be accompanied by large fines for the company, including the revocation of its license
  • Off road driving is also prohibited, as such behavior may cause irreparable damage to the fragile balance of the natural ecosystem.

Breakfast is served at the camp and then enjoy the game drive, get lunch and drive to back to Dar es Salaam.
